He praised Tariq Ikram, Chairman Export Promotion Bureau and Secretary Commerce, Tasneem Noorani for taking keen interest and extending full support to jewellers in removing the problems faced by them.
He further stated that government had directed State Bank of Pakistan to formulate a policy to extend loan facilities to the jewellers so that gold exports could be accelerated.
"Government's incentives to exporters and ideas for export promotion of jewellery are essential to face competition in world market," he stressed.
Khan said that the Export Promotion Bureau should promote and project Pakistan-made jewellery, and take serious initiative to fund some of major international exhibitions, particularly in the USA, UK, Italy and Spain the largest buyers of finished jewellery. Khaleej Times 14th august special.
